In the summer of 2014, the Boekman Cahier, the magazine for arts, culture and policy published the 99th issue titled Creatief en ondernemend: Jonge makers en doeners in cultuur” (Creative and enterprising: Young people making and doing culture). As the title promises, it deals with a new generation of art ‘makers’ and ‘doers’ in the Netherlands
Imagine IC commissioned me to write an article for this issue about the changing habits of heritage professionals. Young people’s work inspires and challenges old habits. I drew on examples of two projects of Imagine IC namely ‘Pannas and Akkas’ (on streetsoccer) and ‘Let’s Party’ (on contemporary party culture in Amsterdam). This inspired me to write the article ‘Een broodje kebab via instagram’ (A kebab sandwich on instagram).
